Schremmer Leads 99th LNGA Amateur Championship, But Elite Field Lurks

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two days of championship golf have set the stage for an exciting finale Thursday at Harrison Lake Country Club, where an elite field will battle for the prestigious George III Amateur Championship Trophy. Thursday's final round brings together a leaderboard featuring established stars, rising young talent, and players chasing career-defining victories.

Scarlett Schremmer of Birmingham, Alabama carries a two-shot lead into the final round after posting rounds of 67 and 70 to sit at 5-under-par 137.

Schremmer, a member of the U.S. National Team, is seeking her first LNGA Amateur title after finishing tied for fourth in her last appearance. Her steady play has her just 18 holes away from etching her name onto one of amateur golf's longest-standing trophies.

Tied for second at 3-under-par 139, Isabella Goyette has been one of the week's biggest stories. Competing in her first LNGA Amateur Championship, she has remained near the top of the leaderboard with confident, consistent golf and enters Thursday with an opportunity to record a victory in her debut appearance.

Tied for second at 3-under-par 139, Alicia Bellendir surged into contention with the lowest round of the championship on Wednesday—a brilliant 3-under-par 68—to move within two shots of the lead. She also enters the final round with a commanding six-shot lead in the Dorothy Pease Junior Medalist competition. A strong final round would give her the opportunity to leave Harrison Lake with both the George III Amateur Championship Trophy and Dorothy Pease Junior Medalist honors.

Then there is Rachel Heck.

The former World Amateur Golf Ranking No. 2 sits just five shots off the lead at even-par 142. Her résumé includes an NCAA individual championship, multiple victories on the national stage, and appearances representing the United States in international competition. With her championship pedigree, Heck needs only one strong round to make a serious run at an LNGA Amateur Championship title.

The final round begins Thursday morning at Harrison Lake Country Club, where one player will earn their first LNGA Amateur Championship victory.
